Strengths

Sets no cookies and, according to the data policy, uses no browser storage or persistent identifiers. Unique visitors are counted with a daily hash of the domain, IP address and User-Agent.
The official WordPress plugin adds tracking with your workspace ID and can send custom events when visitors click elements with a CSS class you choose.
Standard and Pro both include funnels, goals and custom events, and events can carry metadata that the dashboard breaks down.
The Developer API, released in July 2026, works with API keys and exports raw visits, events and sessions to your own tools.
Live users are shown in the bar at the head of the dashboard, and a live activity feed lists new visits, custom events and users coming online.

Watch-outs

The pricing page lists no free plan. New accounts get a 30-day trial on the Mini Plan without a credit card, and tracking continues for 14 days after it ends.
Pageviews and custom events count equally toward the plan limit, and exceeding it two months in a row brings a notice with two weeks to upgrade or cancel.
The public repository and the self-hosted Docker images were last updated in late 2025, so the self-hosted version may lag behind the cloud.
Standard allows one workspace, three team members and 150 AI messages a month, and it shares dashboards through public links only; private links need Pro.
The WordPress plugin was last updated in April 2025, and its directory entry lists WordPress 6.7.7 as the most recent version it was tested with.

Who it suits

Litlyx is a hosted analytics service from Litlyx Srl in Rome, with data on Hetzner servers in Nuremberg, Germany. Besides visitor statistics, it covers custom events, funnels, UTM campaigns and an AI assistant that answers questions about your data and prepares reports for clients.

Plans apply to the whole account and are sized by pageviews plus custom events. Standard includes one workspace with unlimited sites and up to three team members, while Pro removes the limits on workspaces, members and AI messages. Enterprise adds single sign-on, on-premise deployment and white labeling.

The code is published under the Apache-2.0 license, but the public repository has had no commits since December 2025, while the hosted product kept shipping releases through July 2026.

Setup

Create a workspace in the dashboard, then add one script tag with your workspace ID in a data-workspace attribute to the head or the end of the body. In JavaScript projects, install the litlyx-js package and call Lit.init with the same ID; custom events are sent with Lit.event. The documentation also has guides for Google Tag Manager, Shopify, Framer, serverless functions and Python, and the WordPress plugin has its own Litlyx Analytics menu.

Self-hosting uses Docker Compose with MongoDB, Redis, an event producer on port 3001 and the dashboard on port 3000. You set database passwords, a session secret and admin credentials in the compose file, and the reports and AI chat need your own OpenAI keys.

Questions and answers

Does Litlyx use cookies?

No. The data policy states that Litlyx uses no cookies, browser storage or persistent identifiers, and counts unique visitors with a hash of a daily salt, the site’s domain, the IP address and the User-Agent. The vendor says no consent banner is needed; whether that holds for your site depends on the rules that apply to you.

Is there a free Litlyx plan?

No. The pricing page offers a 30-day free trial on the Mini Plan with no credit card, and Litlyx keeps tracking for 14 days after the trial expires. After that, payment is required in advance, and the terms say accounts that stay unpaid for 60 days are scheduled for cancellation.

What counts toward the Litlyx plan limit?

Pageviews and custom events, which count equally. The plan applies to the whole account, across all workspaces and the domains in them. If you exceed the limit two months in a row, Litlyx notifies you and gives you two weeks to move to a higher plan or cancel.

Where is Litlyx data stored?

In Germany. The data policy and the data processing agreement say data is hosted on Hetzner servers in Nuremberg and stays in the EU. The agreement also lists MongoDB, Inc. as a subprocessor, while noting that Litlyx runs its own MongoDB installation on those Hetzner servers.
