How pricing works
Simple Analytics has two self-serve plans and an Enterprise tier quoted on request.
The slider on the vendor’s pricing page is labelled in monthly pageviews, the billing answers speak about data points, and the export API documentation defines a data point as page views and events combined. The fee follows usage rather than a step you commit to: the vendor says it looks at the past month first and then at the average of the previous three, so one busy month moves the bill less than it otherwise would, and a quiet stretch brings it back down.
- Free is meant for hobby sites: one user, five websites, one email report and 30 days of history, with a badge in the footer. Pageviews are unlimited under a fair use policy, and the vendor says it sends an email if traffic passes those limits. Events are not collected on this plan.
- Simple covers ten websites and three email reports, keeps data for three years, and switches on events, the goals dashboard, the stats API, trendlines, annotations, exact numbers, missing script alerts, robot blocking and the option to hide the watermark. One user is included, and each additional user is billed separately.
- Enterprise is priced on request: custom users, websites and retention, role based access, the admin and export APIs, a Looker Studio connector, custom views, IP range blocking, a data proxy, separated data storage, multiple teams for agencies, manual invoicing and a service level agreement.
Every signup starts a 14-day trial of the paid features with no card. When it ends you pick a paid plan or move down to the free plan and carry on. Yearly billing costs two months less. On a yearly plan you estimate the volume in advance; if you go past it the vendor emails you and gives a week to raise the limit before raising it for you, and the counter resets at the end of the year. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
The badge on the free plan is checked rather than requested. The first check runs 14 days after the first recorded visit, then roughly every 30 days. A missing badge brings a 14-day warning, after which dashboard data, API access and exports are locked while collection continues, and access returns once the badge is back in place and rechecked. The badge can be any browser-supported image format as long as its link to the vendor stays intact. What is measured on each plan is on the Simple Analytics card.
