How pricing works

Crazy Egg counts tracked pageviews. The allowance belongs to the account rather than to one site, and the vendor states that it can cover several website domains at no extra cost. Two other quotas sit beside it: heatmap reports and session recordings. Recordings follow a sampling rate you set for each domain separately, and you can lower it or switch recordings off. Heatmaps do not sample by default, so choosing a lower sample rate on some pages is also a way to spend fewer tracked pageviews.

Every paid plan includes unlimited website domains and unlimited team members, web analytics, conversion tracking with funnel reports, surveys and AI analysis of heatmaps and recordings. The plans differ in the size of the three quotas and in what they unlock:

  • Starter carries the smallest quotas and keeps recordings for six months.
  • Plus raises the quotas, extends recording storage to two years and adds A/B testing, popup calls to action and error tracking, with test targeting by device type.
  • Pro widens test targeting to country, UTM parameters and conversions, and adds export of heatmaps and recordings to AI tools.
  • Enterprise allows targeting by every available audience segment and adds SAML single sign-on.

All paid plans are billed annually, and the table above shows the monthly equivalent. The vendor states that overages are never charged. Once the monthly tracking limit is reached, data collection pauses and resumes by itself on the first of the following month; until then you can upgrade or buy extra heatmap and recording capacity as an add-on. Upgrades take effect at once and are prorated, downgrades begin at the next billing cycle.

Other add-ons are sold separately, among them exports and connectors formatted for AI tools and audience targeting for A/B testing. Nonprofits and education can ask for a discount, and agencies are offered shorter terms and pilots through the sales team.

Questions and answers

What does the free plan include?

The free plan needs no credit card and gives web analytics, instant heatmaps, conversion analytics, a live activity feed and popup surveys. Heatmap reports, session recordings, A/B testing and popup calls to action are the parts the vendor names as reasons to upgrade.

Is the trial the same thing as the free plan?

No. Each paid plan starts with a 30-day trial, while the free plan is a separate tier with a narrower feature set. Plans can be changed later from the account settings page, and support for more heatmaps or recordings than a plan holds is arranged through sales. What each level measures is on the Crazy Egg card.
